Melancholy Is A Mental Disorder

Melancholy was first named by Ancient Greece physician Hippocratus, who described it as a suffering from various fears and despondency.
Australian professor Gordon Parker from New South Wales University is sure that it is a serious mental disorder which is harmful for patients' health. Yet, because of biochemical standards, very many psychiatrists don't hurry to include it in the list of mental diseases.
600 000 people in Australia suffer from hidden melancholy. The specialists warn that this disorder causes much more suicides than depression. The main symptoms of this disorder are the absence of attention concentration, lack of physical energy for fulfillment of everyday actions, the desire to lay in bed the whole day without doing anything, passive mood and disability of getting glad of things that usually make people cheer.
